Russ Anixter
Russ Anixter started working as a music copyist when the work still required pen and ink, and made the transition to computer music copying when the Mac still had those very small screens with very little memory. He has been a music copyist in NYC since 1991. As a partner at Anixter Rice Music Service he has supervised music preparation for countless Broadway shows, regional theater, The Radio City Christmas Spectacular, live concerts and recordings. Notable theater projects include all of the Disney musicals on Broadway, Wicked, Jersey Boys and the recent revival of The Who’s Tommy.
Originally from San Francisco, Russ holds a Masters degree in Jazz/Commercial Composition from Manhattan School of Music where he was a student of Manny Albam and Richard Derosa. He also holds a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Relations from California State University at Chico.
The Russ Anixter Hippie Big Band features Russ’ arrangements for an 11 piece ensemble. Music for the eclectic Hippie Big Band includes material from The Grateful Dead, Miles Davis, Weather Report, Little Feat, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix and some jazz and funk classics occasionally fusing together the disparate styles.
As a composer, Russ has had performances of his music by the Queens Symphony Orchestra, The Broadway Chamber Players, and the Alfred Loeffler New Music Composium. Art of Sound Music, in Princeton, NJ, publishes Russ’ arrangements for brass ensembles and other chamber groups.
In his San Francisco days, Russ played trombone, bass trombone and tuba in several big bands and performed throughout the Bay Area. He occasionally plays electric bass in The Ward Hill Boys, a Grateful Dead influenced country band on Staten Island.
Russ is a sitting board member of the American Society of Music Arrangers and composers.

Danielle Gimbal
Danielle Gimbal is a NYC-based copyist specializing in music preparation for musical theatre—a true calling she discovered after exploring various roles in the industry. Collaborating with musicians and creative teams to deliver music that resonates deeply with audiences fuels her passion for musical theatre.
From a young age, Danielle immersed herself in music, playing piano, clarinet, and oboe, and performing in local theatre. Her first role as Gretl in The Sound of Music sparked a lifelong love for the stage. Alongside her theatre performance, she continued honing her skills, studying music theory and classical music, and eventually pursued a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance with an emphasis in Music Theatre at NYU’s Steinhardt School.
In 2017, Danielle expanded her work in theatre, taking on roles in marketing, producing, and general management. These experiences, coupled with her musical expertise, ultimately led her to music copying—a perfect synthesis of her creative and technical skills. Her Broadway debut as a copyist came in 2019 with Be More Chill, and she has since worked on a wide range of Broadway productions, regional theatre, concerts, workshops, and recordings.
Now a partner at Anixter Rice Music Service, Danielle is thrilled to continue contributing to new productions, grateful to learn from decades of industry experience. Outside the rehearsal room, she performs occasionally with Joe Iconis & Family and the 8-Bit Big Band.
